Background
Laura went to the University of Colorado, where she earned degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics on her way to medical school. Somewhere along the way she realized the kind of care she wanted to give people didn’t have to happen in a hospital. It could happen over a meal.
In the Kitchen
Julia’s usually the one out front, but Laura’s happiest in the kitchen, working the line with her team, training staff, tweaking recipes, making sure every event holds up to what Silver Spoons is known for. Her philosophy is simple: take care of the guest, and everything else sorts itself out.
Recognition
Between them, Laura and Julia have run thousands of events across Colorado. Silver Spoons has picked up Denver’s Best Caterer, Denver’s Best Meal Kit Service, and Gold Standard Green Catering Company honors.
Notable Clients
Their client list runs from neighborhood families to Fortune 500 companies, schools, municipalities, nonprofits, airlines, the Morgan Adams Foundation, Starz, and touring acts like Parker McCollum, Matchbox Twenty, and Beyoncé.
Giving Back
Silver Spoons caters just about everything, but Laura’s favorite jobs are the ones that give back: teacher appreciation lunches, celebrations for local student-athletes, nonprofit fundraisers, Thanksgiving meals for families who need one. She’s a firm believer that a business should leave its community better off than it found it.
That same instinct shows up in who she partners with. Laura goes out of her way to work with other Colorado businesses, like Truly Cupcakes and Polidori Sausage, because she thinks local companies do best when they back each other.
Philosophy
Outside of work, Laura’s a wife, a mom of three, a coach, and a regular volunteer. What she wants people to walk away from a Silver Spoons meal with isn’t just a full stomach. It’s the feeling that someone actually cared.
